Markanto und Vitra – 100 Jahre
George Nelson
2008 wäre George Nelson (1908 –
1986) 100 Jahre alt geworden. Nelson,
ein studierter Architekt mit Abschluss
inYale, war eine der prägenden Figuren
des amerikanischen Designs der
zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts.
In seinem Büro entstanden zahlreiche
Designklassiker wie das Marshmallow
Sofa, die Ball Clocks, der Coconut
Chair oder der Pretzel Chair. In Kooperation
mit Vitra zeigt Markanto
eine Auswahl seiner Arbeiten.
George Nelson (1908-1986) would
have turned 100 in 2008. Nelson, an
architect with a degree fromYale, had
a great influence on American design
in the second half of the 20th century.
In his office, design classics such as
the Marshmallow Sofa, the Ball
Clocks, the Coconut Chair and the
Pretzel Chair were created. In cooperation
with Vitra, Markanto is showcasing
a selection of his work.
